Privacy Policy

What we collect
- Contract text you submit. When you run a scan, the text you paste or upload is sent to our AI provider (OpenAI) for analysis. We do not store your contract text on our servers — it is processed to generate your report and then discarded.
- Your email address. We ask for your email to deliver your free risk score and to verify paid scans. Your email is stored as a customer record in Stripe, our payment processor.
- Payment information. Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card details — Stripe's own privacy policy governs that data.
- Scan history on your device. Your recent scans are saved in your own browser's local storage so you can revisit them. This never leaves your device; we cannot see it.
- Anonymous usage analytics. We use Vercel Web Analytics, which is privacy-friendly and cookie-free, to understand overall traffic (page views, referrers). It does not identify you personally.
- Anonymous funnel counters. We keep aggregate counts of how many free risk scores are issued and how many paid reports are unlocked, so we can see where people drop off. These are totals only — they contain no personal information and cannot be traced back to you.
How we use it
- To generate your contract risk report.
- To enforce one free risk score per email and verify paid scans and subscriptions.
- To process payments through Stripe.
- To improve the service based on aggregate, anonymous usage patterns.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your contract text to train AI models.
Data retention
Contract text is not retained after your report is generated. Email records in Stripe are kept as long as needed to service your scans and comply with tax and accounting obligations. You can ask us to delete your email record at any time (see below) — though that will also remove your scan entitlements tied to it.
Your rights
You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, by emailing privacy@fineprint247.com. We will respond within 30 days.
Children
FinePrint is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we change this policy in a material way, we will update the date above and note the change here for 30 days.
September 20, 2026: disclosed the anonymous funnel counters (aggregate totals of free risk scores issued and paid reports unlocked).
